Intranet
Intranets are designed exclusively for the internal staff of a company, which can include employees and external co-workers, and are protected from external communications of the company by means of security protections.
This way, an intranet can provide all types of classified internal information, where we most frequently classify different types of employee access to various levels of classified content in terms of their position in a company.
In principle, access to the intranet always requires a user login, on the basis of which content and tools relevant to the user become available.

Planning
In the process of Intranet planning, the organisation must be able to answer the following questions:
- What do we wish to achieve with Intranet?
- Which department or person will be in charge of technology implementation and supervision?
- How and when will the existing systems be replaced?
- How will the security of Intranet be taken care of?
- How will legal and other regulations be complied with?
- What will be the level of interactivity?
- Will content management be centralised or dispersed?
At the same time, the company must make a decision regarding the applied hardware and software (e.g. CMS), rules of user participation (e.g. standards of good taste, prevention of harassment and assurance of confidentiality) and the included functionalities.
The process of implementing Intranet into the organisational structure of the company includes:
- Involvement of future users for determining information requirements
- Establishment of an internet server with proper hardware and software
- Establishment of access to server through TCP/IP network
- Setting up user programmes on all computers, where necessary
- Creation of a website for presentation and use of content
- Inclusion of users in Intranet testing and promotion
Implementation
Intranet predstavlja informacijsko točko, ki omogoča boljše sodelovanje in informiranje zaposlenih ter tako neposredno vpliva na produktivnost zaposlenih, saj so jim vse pomembne informacije kadarkoli na razpolago.
Pri snovanju intraneta izhajamo predvsem iz potreb in želja naročnika. Poleg tehnične izvedbe na različnih platformah in integracije z obstoječimi sistemi posvečamo velik pomen tudi analizi informacij in njihovi varnosti.
Potek vzpostavitve intraneta ponavadi razdelimo na več faz, ki pa potekajo v tesnem sodelovanju z naročnikom:
- pridobivanje uporabniških zahtev, ki vključujejo intervjuje z zaposlenimi ter analiza obstoječega stanja,
- priprava predloga intraneta z načrtovanjem,
- izbira tehnologije in razvoj,
- prenos v naročnikovo okolje, izobraževanje in vnos vsebin,
- vzdrževanje ter morebitne nadgradnje.
Ključno za uspeh intraneta je, da zaposleni aktivno sodelujejo pri pripravi vsebin intraneta in v ta namen pripravljamo izobraževanja vseh sodelujočih.
