Recruitment processes can be optimised from two aspects: outwards and inwards. This can be done through the application of tools that transfer part of communication and procedures onto the internet.

Recruitment process optimisation, on the surface, includes the improvement and facilitation of the process of searching for potential personnel or work via job seekers. Recruitment process optimisation beneath the surface means the improvement and facilitation of work with existing employees.
